The Priory Learning Trust is looking to recruit a dedicated, inspiring and enthusiastic Head of Science to work at our Worle Community School - an Academy.


This is a very exciting opportunity for an individual who will be able to lead and inspire the department, encouraging students to enjoy and succeed in their learning.

This individual will lead the team on the next stage of their journey in curriculum development.


What you will do:


  • Line manage the science faculty
  • Continue to develop the science curriculum, working alongside the Director of Science for TPLT.
  • Actively quality assure and develop the teaching and learning delivered by the science team.
  • Have strong data analysis skills to inform intervention and student progression.
  • Facilitate a programme of extracurricular activities e.g. science club, period 6 etc.
  • Performance manage robustly all teachers in the Science Department so that ambitious targets are met
  • A qualified teacher status
  • An ability to teach across a range of students of different ages and abilities
  • Line management experience
