This is a 12-month contract for an undergraduate student studying for a scientific or engineering degree, which has a placement year in industry.

As an Innovation Intern within the global Natural Extracts team you will be part of a team developing new extraction processes and products.

The purpose of these products is to provide natural flavour to foods and beverages.

As an Innovation Intern your key responsibility is to assist the development of Natural Extracts through; a defined project relevant to your current University studies, and assigned practical work.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assist in the development of Natural Extracts

Delivery of a defined project relevant to your current University studies which provide value to New Product Development.

Project task may involve but are not limited to:

Scientific literature and patents reviews

Design of experiment

Statistical analysis of data

Safe operation of various laboratory and pilot plant equipment to produce natural extracts

Safe operation of various analytical equipment to identify and quantify odrorants and tastants, such as, Gas Chromatography, High Pressure Liquid Chromatography

Recording work in Laboratory Notebook

Reporting project work in line with Intern's University guidelines.

The appropriate training will be given on all equipment.

An understanding of basic scientific principles coupled with an interest in food and beverage

Planning and prioritization of workload

Ability to work under supervision

Interpersonal skills

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

Currently in 2rd or 3rd year studying for a degree in science. This role is particularly relevant to students studying Chemistry and Chemical Engineering.
