Luton £28-£30K
Mon - Fri 8 am to 5 pm
The
Health and Safety Coordinator plays a crucial role in ensuring the well-being of our employees by implementing effective safety programs and procedures.
This position requires a detail-oriented individual with strong analytical skills and the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.
The company is willing to offer training in IOSH and racking inspections to aid your knowledge and expertise.You will work with various managers across the company and report to the Group Health & Safety Manager so being able to build good working relationships is paramount.

The main job purpose of the
Health and Safety Co-ordinator is to ensure that the site maintains the highest levels of compliance with Health and Safety standards.
Main areas of responsibilities:
The
Health and Safety Co-ordinator will be expected to be flexible to cover shift-based requirements.
- New starter inductions for Health and safety.
- Maintaining the training matrix. Implement and maintain a refresher program for induction refresher training.
- Develop a site health and safety observation audit.
- Health and safety risk assessments to develop Safe Systems of Work (SSoW) with department stakeholders
- Investigate and report on accidents and near misses.
- Conduct weekly fire alarm safety tests and weekly fire fighting equipment checks.
- Maintain contractor relationships and service schedules for health and safety regulatory compliance.
- Conduct monthly racking inspections.
- Coordinate twiceyearly evacuation tests.
- Ensure all 1st aid station supplies are in date and order supplies as necessary.
Skills
- Preferably experience in a coordinator capacity
- Knowledge of or experience in
health & safety: - Able to work as part of a team and build good working relationships
- Can work in a chilled/ambient environment for extended periods of time.
- Can work to strict deadlines in a fastpaced environment.
- Proficient in report writing and record keeping.
