People Advisor / HR Advisor


A great opportunity has arisen for a proactive, fast paced, People Advisor who would like to work in a values driven, growing tech company with c.3,000 employees globally and offices across the UK and 7 international offices.


We are especially looking for an HR Advisor/People Advisor who would be comfortable working with a high intellect workforce supporting and guiding managers on all aspect of HR from performance, to how to handle difficult conversations, to policy advice etc.

Supporting the 4 HR/People Partners this is an advisory not administrative role and so your tiptop communication skills, credibility and ability to challenge and push back is of paramount importance.


Although your knowledge and experience of HR best practice and employment law is necessary for this role, what is more important is your credibility and gravitas to influence and guide highly educated tech people who love what they do, in all aspects of HR.


This full time hybrid role is working one day a week in the office in Leeds or potentially at other locations across the UK, with 4 days working remotely.


Responsibilities:


  • Partner with managers on all aspects of HR to ensure HR genuinely adds value.
  • Escalate the most complex of ER Issues to the relevant People Partner.
  • Create solutions to people issues which enable managers to better meet their commercial objectives
  • Use data and metrics to identify potential issues and support decisionmaking that really increases employee engagement.
  • This is a pure generalist role with specific focus on helping managers with any HR issues, such as performance, capability and some employee relations. There isn't a huge amount of ER/grievance & disciplinary as people enjoy working there and engagement is high.
  • The company is going through a period of growth, so the desire to grow and develop as the company grows would be ideal.

Person Specification:


  • Preferably with a degree and CIPD full or part qualified.
  • Evidence of having added value in an HR role within a fast paced private sector organization.
  • Proactive with buckets of positive energy and always wanting to go the extra mile.
  • Articulate with the credibility to influence within a high intellect, creative environment.
  • Highly organised, with a warm and collaborative communication style
  • Totally flexible, not process driven with the ability to interact with people at all levels within the organisation.
  • We may consider degree qualified Operational Managers with a good understanding of HR, great comms/influencing skills, who are looking to move into a pure HR role.
