Butler Rose are delighted to be working with a Exeter based public sector organisation that are now looking for a Procurement Category Lead to join their established team.

The role is wide ranging in responsibility and will see the chosen individual workwith the organisation on procurement strategy and take responsibility for assigned categories of spend.

This is a hybrid role with only 1 day per month in the office expected

The role

This position will require the chosen individual to build on the already established work that has been carried out to date, by managing categories of spend for the organisation as well as assisting with the development of various new and ongoing projects.

Duties are wide ranging and include the following:

Actively manage and control category spend
Keep abreast and implement changes in procurement legislation
Lead on collaborative working on the development of frameworks and other joint procurement initiatives.
Achieving value for money across the organisation
Lead in the development of training for the communicating of procurement best practice across the organisation.
Lead in maintaining internal guidance documents and training on procurement and contract management
Lead on advising and supporting officers in carrying out complex procurement and contract management
Lead on supplier negotiations including contract drafting

About you
To be chosen for the role you must possess experience procuring a range of goods and services as well as public sector procurement experience

Salary £38,000 £40,000
