What is the purpose of the Planner role?
To be responsible for planning manufacturing work schedules into the production areas.
What will be the responsibilities of the Planner?

  • Develop and maintain production job schedule in MRP in line with customer needs
  • Establish strong relationships and provide world class levels of service to internal customers.
  • Drive improved performance based on measurable KPIs.
  • Identify opportunities to improve communications and processes both internally and externally
  • Input and validation of demand and supply profile for Sales, Inventory, and Operations planning.
  • Plan, coordinate and control interdepartmental activity within CAM, quality assurance, manufacturing, procurement, engineering, production, and logistics
  • Review production orders for proper time keeping, material issue, and BOM accuracy.
  • Ensure correct setting of MRP planning parameters
  • Establish efficient planning production systems to reduce costs and improve efficiency.
  • Accountable for meeting Job delivery and Inventory targets
  • Ensure accuracy of data within MRP system e.g. hours, operations, BOM, routing etc by highlighting any corrections required to engineering
What skills and experience will the Planner have?

  • Experience of Lean tools and techniques
  • Project management
  • Experience in aerospace or similar
  • Proactive change management experience
  • Able to read engineering drawings
  • Experience in design to spec environments
