This is an exciting and unique opportunity to work within Outpatients specifically Gateway A at the Nottingham Treatment Centre at the Nottingham University Hospitals.
We support Outpatient clinics for the Dermatology Service meaning there is lots of variety within this role.
We are looking for a dedicated, patient focused HCA who is committed to providing the highest standards of nursing care for our patients.
This is an exciting opportunity for a Health Care Assistant. We offer a supportive teamwork structure and an opportunity to further your skills. You will work closely with a highly skilled workforce including Registered Nurses and Specialist Nurses.

Main duties of the job

You will be required to carry out a number of designated tasks, of which will involve direct care, in support of and under the supervision of a registered nurse in the outpatient setting.
Support all areas of the Dermatology Service and the Outpatient clinics
The successful applicant will work as an effective member of the multi-disciplinary team.
Following appropriate training and assessment, undertake clinical and non-clinical duties in support of the registered nurse.
The post holder is not required to hold statutory qualifications.
You may be required to work across campuses (City/QMC/TC)

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Under the direction and supervision of a registered nurse, carry out nursing procedures following verification of competency and assist with the care and treatment of patients.
This may include:
assisting with and meeting the comfort needs of patients, chaperoning patients and clinicians within outpatients, escorting patients to and from the toilet.
The taking and accurately recording patients' temperature, pulse and blood pressure. Also patients height, weight and Body Mass Index.Ensure that patients are helped to retain and maintain their dignity and individuality.
Participate in the treatment and rehabilitation of patients as required.
Direct and escort patients and visitors around the clinic and to other departments.
Be aware of the need for confidentiality both in the written and spoken word.

- Understand the importance of instructions and written procedures

- Level of education to be assessed prior to interview.
- NVQ / QCF 2 in Healthcare
Essential criteria
- Previous experience in dealing with customers, patients or clients in a work environment.
- Previous experience in a health or social care setting.

- Demonstrate clear and effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Good telephone skills
- Ability to pass on information accurately.
Planning and organisation skills

- Demonstrate effective time management skills.
