The HR Staff Hub is the first point of contact for all HR, Payroll and Pensions queries and is also responsible for all transactional HR Operations for the College.

Utilising a service management platform, we receive and process a high volume of requests relating to various aspects of the employee lifecycle.


Duties and responsibilities:


  • Monitor and prioritise customer requests on our service management platform to ensure timely delivery within agreed timescales.
  • Process family leave requests which include maternity, paternity and shared parental leave providing support and attending meetings, where appropriate.
  • Manage and oversee the College's consultation process for employees on fixed term contracts and employees on openended contracts (which are underpinned by external funding) including arranging and attending consultation meetings and arranging redundancy payments, where necessary.
  • Issue contracts for new starters and create their record on the HR system (Oracle)
  • Administer contractual changes such as contract extensions, salary adjustments, changes to working hours and costing information.
  • Liaise with the Payroll Team in relation to changes of salary and promotions
  • Process leaver requests to include resignations, retirement, and end of contract terminations.
  • Meet regularly with customers from your designated business area to build relationships and increase knowledge or working practices.
  • Support users of the HR services in your designated business area with the various processes they will need to utilise.
  • Produce accurate correspondence to requesters and members of staff confirming any variations to employment conditions.
  • Liaise with the HR Compliance Team in relation to immigration queries and requests with sponsorship implications.
  • To ensure confidentiality and integrity of all casual worker information in accordance with the GDPR and other relevant legislation and Codes of Practice.

Essential requirements:


  • You will have a working knowledge and understanding of employment law, particularly in relation to consultations and maternity, paternity and shared parental leave.
  • You will have strong and demonstrable HR administration experience, be confident communicating with a wide range of stakeholders in a busy and diverse environment. With a 'customer first' approach you will be focussed on delivering exceptional levels of service with the ability to effectively manage your workload to accommodate peaks in activity and meet deadlines.
  • High levels of attention to detail are essential due to the high volume and nature of data that you will be responsible for updating and managing within the HRIS system.
  • Experience of working with HR Systems is strongly desirable.
  • You will be confident in working independently, as well as being a strong team player.

This role is offered on a full-time fixed term basis until July 2025.

Interviews are likely to take place week commencing 8 January 2024

Hybrid working may be considered for this role.

Staff working in roles that are suitable for hybrid working will normally be expected to work 60% of their time onsite.
