Grafton Banks Finance is working with a specialist manufacturing business, based in Hastings, to recruit its new Financial Controller.

This business is part of an international group.

Reporting to the MD and with a dotted line to the Group FD this role will have overall responsibility for the finance, information technology and HR functions of the business.

It will also lead two businesscritical projects, the implementation of a new ERP system and the integration of another business within the group.

We are looking for a qualified accountant and an experienced finance professional. Ideally, you'll be experienced in the manufacturing industry and skilled in costing and inventory control.

If you don't have manufacturing experience but have worked in arelated industry with stock control experience, then this would also be a good fit.

Experience of implementing ERP systems and working in SME businesses would be advantageous.


Key responsibilities:

  • Manage Finance department to achieve reliable, highquality output to deadlines.
  • Provide financial reports and interpret financial information to managerial staff.
  • Weekly financial sales & orders reporting, including 6 weeks cashflow and rolling sales forecasts.
  • Preparation of Monthly accounts including P&L, balance sheet, cashflow, and capex.
  • Preparation of Monthly Board Reporting Pack including the collation of KPIs, Finance, Sales, Production and Quality reports.
  • Work with Operations and Sales management to forecast monthly, quarterly, and annual results.
  • Manage the preparation of annual budgets and 5year plan.
  • Analyse costs, pricing, variable contributions, sales results, and company actual performance compared to plan.
  • Work closely with Operations to ensure detailed finance oversight is exercised over stock management, control and usage.
  • Drive system and process improvements with focus on product/ project costing methods and ERP system improvements.
  • HR maintain personnel records and payroll systems; provide advisory support to managers and team leaders; monitor & support employee engagement and related initiatives.
Salary for this role is up to £80,000 + benefits including 10% bonus, 25 days holiday, and pension.

Our client is looking for someone who is happy to go into the offices a minimum of 4 days per week.
