Are you ready for a challenging role with opportunities for growth and development? Our Construction Services team is looking for a skilled Laboratory Manager to lead our laboratory in Stockton, California.

This is a unique opportunity to join Kleinfelder's team of experts who help develop and maintain America's infrastructure and supply chain.

The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, knowledge of commercial laboratory operations, and experience managing resources and staff to ensure efficiency and quality.

Key Responsibilities:

• Promote and demonstrate Kleinfelder's values and safety commitment.
• Prudently manage resources and staff to ensure efficiency and quality.
• Supervise operational personnel (laboratory staff), including resource coordination, internal quality control, and management of deliverables.
• Communicate with clients and coworkers to successfully deliver laboratory services on a consistent basis.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance for staff.
• Represent Kleinfelder in local professional organizations.
• Ensure project deadlines are met by providing proper scheduling, coordination, and organization of items to be tested and available resources.
• Perform routine to complex lab testing, including soils, aggregates, concrete, asphalt, masonry, and steel materials.
• Ensure laboratory equipment is properly maintained and calibrated in accordance with internal procedures.
• Maintain Kleinfelder's local lab accreditations.
• Establish and maintain relationships through excellent communication, professionalism, and client service focus.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience with laboratory testing of construction materials.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record and ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to work independently and as a team member, maintaining composure, and working effectively in a high-pressure environment with changing priorities.
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Able to use a company-provided laptop or tablet computer and a working knowledge of MS Office programs.
• Organization and multi-tasking ability.
• Good work ethic, attention to detail, and high level of personal integrity.
• Authorization to work in the United States.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience as a laboratory manager or supervisor.
• Previous experience with Geotechnical testing, such as Resistance value, Direct Shear, Consolidations.
• Associates degree or higher in construction technology, construction management, or related engineering field.
• Engineer-In-Training (EIT) or Fundamental of Engineering (FE) certification.
• American Concrete Institute (ACI) certifications: Aggregate Testing Technician - Level 1 or 2, Aggregate/Soils Base Testing Technician, Concrete Strength Testing Technician, Concrete Field-Testing Technician - Grade 1, Concrete Laboratory Testing Technician - Level 1 or 2.
• National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies (NICET): Construction Materials Testing: Asphalt, Concrete, Soils (Levels I, II, or III).
• Caltrans: JTCP Soils and Aggregate, JTCP HMA I & II.
• Nuclear density gauge safety, handling, operation, and transporting training/certification.

Kleinfelder offers an excellent compensation and benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, 401(k) plan, and paid holidays. The expected salary range for this position is $90,000 - $120,557 annually.
