Systems Administrator
Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage our entire Linuxbased platform infrastructure, leading the planning, design, implementation, and maintenance of systemlevel software and infrastructure.
- Monitor system performance and proactively identify and address any bottlenecks or other issues that could impact business operations
- Upgrading infrastructure components including but not limited to load balancers, firewalls, network devices, storage, and virtualisation.
- Ensure the security of all systems
- Troubleshoot and resolve any technical issues that arise, including server downtime, network connectivity problems, and software errors
- Design and develop complex, scalable, and highly available system architectures.
- Streamline and automate system workflows and processes, contributing to continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) efforts.
- Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve highcomplexity system issues, optimizing performance and reliability.
- Support the development team with adhoc and industrystandard development and testing tools.
- Produce and maintain highquality technical documentation related to system architectures, processes, and incident reports.
Qualifications and experience:
- 10+ years of experience in Linux systems administration.
- Scripting languages such as Bash, Python and PHP.
- Linux kernel, system internals, tuning, performance optimization, and debugging.
- DevOps and IAC tooling e.g. Terraform, Ansible, Packer and Git
- Network protocols and principles, including multicast, TCP/IP, NTP, HTTP and DNS.
- CI/CD tools and practices, with experience in designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines.
- Monitoring and log management tools like Zabbix, Grafana, ELK Stack, or Graylog.
- Database cluster administration, like MySQL and PostgreSQL.
- Experience with virtualisation software such as KVM.
- Expertise with container technologies like Docker Swarm.
- Experience with AWS.
- Experience with complex mailing systems including PowerMTA, Exim and Postfix
- Indepth understanding of secure coding practices, system hardening, and encryption technologies.
- Excellent problemsolving skills and strategic thinking with a focus on innovation and process improvement.
- Outstanding communication skills and ability to communicate complex technical concepts.
- Strong, selfmotivated, and proactive team player with the ability to adjust to shifting priorities and time management skills.
Salary:
£60,000.00-£65,000.00 per year
