Job Description:

You'll be part of the specialist commercial team in Group eCommerce, within Merchant Services. Our mission is to serve our high-value eCommerce clients with genuine world-class innovative, reliable, and secure digital payment solutions in key specialist verticals

As a Head of Partnerships, you'll join a small but extremely dynamic and independent team. You will be accountable for helping the VP of Sales exceed sales targets within the specialist vertical industries. Targeting leading platform/ISO/referral Partnerships to gain quick to access market share.

To be successful in this role, you will have deep experience working with leading platform providers within specialist verticals.

You must have strong knowledge of specialised verticals and their eco-system and the general needs of these merchants including Regulated Gaming, Crypto Exchanges, Subscription, Financial & Fintech, and Delayed Delivery Services.


This is an amazing opportunity to join a newly formed division within Nexi Group from the beginning, with huge potential to help grow the business to meet our aggressive but realistic sales targets throughout 2023 and beyond.


Your key tasks and responsibilities are:

  • Build and lead a newly formed partnerships team
  • Orchestrate and execute short and long term partnership strategy
  • Ensuring sales strategy and revenue targets are met for the specialised verticals division by working closely with the VP of Sales.
  • Target and bring onboard leading partners within the specialised space
  • Be responsible for developing and influencing the internal processes that are necessary for success
  • Lead contractual negotiations and maintain a strong working relationship with internal stakeholders including legal & compliance
  • Liase closely with the product team to influence appropriate product road map for future delivery
  • Regularly attend and speak at industry events
  • Contribute to thought leadership publications
  • Work closely and align closely with our risk and compliance team to ensure you are in lock step
  • Be a leader within Nexi's Cross selling initiative
  • Managing partner campaigns and steer your teams go to market approach using lead generation tools such as LinkedIn Sales Navigator and partnering with the marketing and lead generation teams
  • Helping the sales team navigate proposals, pricing, and completing RFP/RFI's when needed
  • Ability to engage at Executive level with key decisionmakers such as the CEO, CFO, and CTO of large companies
  • Work collaboratively and crossfunctionally across the organization to help shape Nexi's products and solutions to meet customer needs.

Your qualifications include:


  • Strong experience selling into specialised vertical platforms and partners
  • Experience in building a partner strategy from the ground up
  • Proven track record of overachieving KPI and goals.
  • Experience building sustainable longterm relationships with leading specialised vertical partners
  • Demonstrated passion for new technology businesses.
  • Strong knowledge on contract negotiation and legal parameters
  • Ability to understand complex compliance including triparty arrangements and other models pertaining to specialised verticals
  • Strong grasp on partner commercial models and ability to think laterally
  • Experience in working with multiple stakeholders within a payment organisation
  • Strong results in achieving commercial goals, and ability to work analytically
  • Excellent customerfirst mindset and commercial acumen, with the ability to nurture relationships and help them grow.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to work independently and autonomously, interact and operate excellently within a small team of experts distributed throughout Europe, and willingness to travel
  • Knowledge of IC++, Gateway, and APM pricing
  • MS Office, Salesforce, and CRM systems experience.
  • Fluent in English. Skills in other main European languages are desirable.
