IN SHORT
HMP Bullingdon are recruiting for an innovative Maths Tutor to deliver pre-entry level, up to level 2 Maths Classes.
This is an exciting opportunity where you will be actively engaging prison-based learners with creative classes and resources.
Many of the learners have a diverse range of needs and learning abilities, they will often have had a negative experience with education.
As a successful Maths Tutor, you will truly inspire them and provide learners with a positive learning experience.This role will involve outreach work outside of the main classroom setting.
You will be working with learners on a 1:1 basis in the wings, workshops and other areas of the prison.
The Outreach work involves connecting with learners in a professional manner, supporting them with their learning, enabling them to feel more secure within education and encouraging them to return to a classroom setting.
We are seeking an individual who can communicate well with learners to inspire and motivate them. The average class consist of 8 learners and the sessions are approximately 3 hours long. The 1:1 sessions are approximately 30 mins. Your lessons will need to be adaptable, innovative and imaginative.OUR BENEFITS

ABOUT HMP Bullingdon...**Bullingdon Community Prison is situated near the village of Arncott in Bicester, Oxon. HMP Bullingdon is a complex prison that has a number of functions. It is categorized as a local category B prison which a category C resettlement function. HMP Bullingdon has the capacity to hold 1114 offenders all serving a range of sentences from remand to life, with the average length of stay between 3 and 6 months.
The College works closely with our prison colleagues to deliver short to medium courses that help prepare learners for employment upon release
Courses include:
English and Maths Functional Skills (Entry 2 to Level 2), ICT, Cookery, Hospitality, Business, Self-Employment, Painting & Decorating, Horticulture, Paving, Mentoring and Barbering.
