Our client is a Tier 1 D&B Contractor operating predominately in the water industry, who are delivering a significant proportion of Severn Trent Water's AMP7 programmes of clean and wastewater non-infrastructure projects.
They are looking to recruit and EICA Engineering Lead for this key framework and this position can be based in either their Derby or Coleshill offices with hybrid working also available.
You will be responsible for the technical leadership of the EICA discipline in the region, ensuring that the technical discipline is the right size and shape and has the correct competencies and capacity in region.
You will also ensure that the standarddesign practices are applied in region and contribute to the development of the discipline.
The responsibilities will include:
- Provides technical leadership of the EICA discipline.
- Long term staffing/succession plans as well as training & development planning for the discipline in the Thames Water and Severn Trent regions.
- Staff performance reviews/PDRs.
- Application of strategic design philosophy for the EICA in discipline in the region.
- Management of technical quality.
- Task time requirements (estimates) in discipline in region.
- Application of task delivery methods and toolsets in discipline in region
- Allocation of bestfit, competent staff to projects in region.
- The use of common, secure, information management systems in discipline in region.
- Contributing to definition and implementing technical strategy.
- Tactical technical risk in discipline in region.
- Client relationships and service management.
Skills, Qualifications & Experience:
- Experience of technical design in a designbuild environment.
- Experience in the water treatment industry.
- Experience in leading and managing discipline design teams.
- Must be qualitydriven with the ability to set targets, manage and motivate multidisciplinary teams to deliver to time, cost and quality objectives.
- Able to identify and manage project technical risk.
- Experience of leading remote/geographicallydispersed teams.
- Degree qualified in EICA related qualification/Chartered engineer
- Relationship development and working with others to deliver results.
- Technically focused.
- Technical design management.
- BIM and digital delivery astute.
- Drive for continuous improvement.
