Portsmouth

£47k + car allowance

The Company

Our client has recently been awarded a 7-year contract for the maintenance and improvement of the Defence Built Estate, to include in excess of 20,000 assets.

They are a new business, formed to deliver infrastructure, asset, and facilities management services into the UK Defence Sector.

They are a 50:50 Joint Venture between 2 already established big players in the FM and Utilities markets with over 55 years' experience.

They are committed to enabling Defence capability through maintaining and enhancing the built estate in which our Armed Forces live, work and train.


The role

The Built Estate Manager will be responsible the managing of the Reactive and Programmed Property Maintenance for all sites within area of responsibility and operate as the immediate escalation point for significant operational and delivery issues at site level.

Manage team and Supply Chain performance to ensure that all Reactive and Planned Maintenance key performance indicators are consistently achieved within area of responsibility.

Manage team and Supply Chain performance to ensure that all Billable Works Fully understand the operational role of the establishments within area of responsibility and the Heads of Establishment's priorities to ensure optimal levels of support are provided to Unit outputs.

Ensuring that Statements of Need (SONs) are drafted to support the Sustain/Maintain/Change Billable Works requirements needed to manage the estate effectively within area of responsibility.

Ensuring that all complaints are resolved in a timely and satisfactory manner within area of responsibility.
To deputise for the Area Manager as and when required.

Ensure the maintenance of the Establishment Specific Task Schedule (ESTS) and the Forward Additional Services Plan (FASP) for sites within area of responsibility.


Could this be for you?:


  • HNC, or equivalent, level qualification in a Building/Civil Engineering or Electrical/ Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline or equivalent experience. Continuing Professional Development
  • Technical training to maintain and develop technical competence and awareness of
Asbestos / Legionella Responsible Persons within area of responsibility.

  • Emergency first aid qualification
  • Fire safety qualification
  • IOSH or equivalent qualification
