Description

The DK Eyewitness travel division is seeking a well-organized and creative individual to work across our growing list of travel guides and gift and inspiration titles.

During this 12 month maternity cover, you will be responsible for developing concepts, researching and honing new ideas, and preparing titles for pitch.

You will oversee the project-management of new titles, from approval of initial concept to finished product, and any points in between.

You will keep our established series fresh and up-to-date, offering improvements and evolving existing content. Above all, you will ensure all content is produced to the highest editorial standard.

Developing great working relationships, across all teams and at all levels, is central to the role, as are project management skills, both the ability to manage your own work and oversee that of others.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Managing your own projects and overseeing the work of others
  • Researching and honing concepts for new titles and existing content
  • Creating and monitoring schedules and budgets for a range of titles, ensuring all associated admin is updated and completed
  • Commissioning, briefing and overseeing outsourcers
  • Quality control of editorial content and sales material
  • Copyediting, proofreading, fact
- and sense-checking commissioned content

  • Mentoring and developing the editorial team, offering practical support and handson training
  • Regularly reporting progress and providing updates to the managing editor
  • Reviewing and implementing editorial styles, documentation and processes

If you believe you are the right person for this role, please submit your most recent cover letter and CV by Sunday 30 July 2023.

Salary:
Up to £38,832 depending on how your skills and experience align to the role, plus bonus and benefits

We have a range of benefits to reflect our commitment to our people, some of which are:

  • 25 days paid holiday entitlement in year one, plus bank holidays
  • Generous pension scheme
  • Volunteering policy and charity matching
  • Employee assistance programme
  • Cycle to work scheme and discounted gym membership
  • Summer hours
And we plant a tree for every new employee to our business

DK supports flexible working and has introduced a new 'smart-working' policy with a hybrid approach of working weekly from home and in DK's office.
