Description
There is an exciting opportunity to join the Imaging department at Bedford
Hospital, which has now merged with Luton and Dunstable Hospital to form the Bedfordshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

We are looking for a dynamic interventional radiologist with a progressive attitude, to support the local GI, GU and hepatobiliary services and
the vascular interventional radiology services, as part of the Bedfordshire Milton Keynes (BMK) Vascular Unit.

The post is primarily based at Bedford Hospital, however there will be a requirement to work one day a week at Luton Hospital as well.

Once the

vascular hub relocates to Luton Hospital in 2024, vascular interventional work is expected to be undertaken primarily at the Luton site.

There will initially be a General Radiology on-call commitment, currently 1 in 11, up to 8pm on weekdays and 3pm on weekends, moving to a
7-day Intervention service / on-call in the near
future.

Home reporting has been functional at Bedford since before the pandemic and there is an option for working extended days if preferred.

With the expansion in national training numbers, we aim to start Radiology registrar rotations at Bedford next year, to support the already
well-established posts at Luton, so an interest in teaching will be very welcome. We also run a regular undergraduate teaching programme for
students from the Cambridge rotation which the appointees will be encouraged to support.

The post is funded for 10 PAs however part time applicants will be considered.

Our Trust provides hospital services to a growing population of around 700,000 people living across Bedfordshire and the surrounding areas across two busy hospital sites in Bedford and Luton.

Travel between hospital sites may be required.

We have state-of-the art facilities placing us at the heart of cutting edge health care.

The Trust continues to be committed to delivering the best patient care using the best clinical knowledge and technology available.
