About the role
Are you a CDM Advisor/H&S Professional with a desire to work on an exciting portfolio of projects? Balfour Beatty are currently seeking a CDM Advisor to join our Power Transmission & Distribution team working on the Isle of Skye project.
The main purpose of this role is to assist with all aspects of project delivery in relation to the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015.
What you'll be doing
- PD/PC Duties as defined by the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 201
- CDM Advisor Role, including Construction Site Inspections
- Identifying the need and arranging CDM strategy meetings and compiling the minutes.
- Preparing the CDM Summary Log and maintaining this throughout the life of the project
- Produce F10 documentation for the Health and Safety Executive (HSE)
- Ensure preconstruction information is collected and presented to those who require it.
- Ensure the Construction Phase Plan is suitable before commencement on site.
- Ensure project teams coordinate H&S aspects of the design and designers cooperate with others involved in the project.
- Producing and updating the health & safety file for handover on completion of the works
Who we're looking for
- Excellent knowledge of CDM Regulations and Health and Safety legislation.
- Previous experience within a CDM related role.
- Working knowledge and an understanding of engineering and construction
transmission projects.
- NEBOSH General or Construction.
- SSSTS or SMSTS (mandatory).
- Membership to IOSH or APS (desirable).
- Have an excellent understanding of current legislation relating to construction along with experience and working knowledge of ISO standards.
- Have excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and manage
- Competent in the use of MS Word, MS Outlook and MS Excel
- Have an excellent grasp of spoken and written English.
- Willingness to travel and work from Isle of Skye following the initial phase in the Glasgow office.
