A fantastic opportunity is available with Manchester City Council for a Business Support Officer to work in the Leaving Care Team.


Hours: 35 per week


Contract:
initially until 31/03/23


Location:
The Beehive, 40 Seymour Road, M8 5BR

Directorate - Children's Services (Business Support Officer)

Manchester Leaving Care service supports around 1500 young people aged 16-25 years old who are Care Leavers in Manchester.

Young People have a Personal Advisor (PA) who supports in a variety of ways to help young people prepare for independence.


Main duties of the role:


  • General office duties (business support) processing, logging and filing paperwork
  • Cash handling petty cash and payments to our PAs (colleagues)
  • Handling invoices and other digital payments
  • Multipartnership work with other MCC depts and services


While these are some of the main duties, this is a varied role with potential to gain experience and skills in a variety of areas.

  • Communication Skills: Demonstrates an understanding of the views of others and communicates in a realistic and practical manner using appropriate language and medium, listens attentively to views and issues of others.
  • Good literacy and numeracy skills to undertake calculations and produce letters and other documentation.
  • Planning and Organising: Provides work on time, to the required standard, and is capable of prioritising own workload in order to meet deadlines.

Ability to interpret rules and guidelines in order to resolve queries.
