Starting in January 23rd 2023 this is an exciting opportunity for an knowledgeable and educated English Teacher, responsible for teaching English to mixed ability groups of pupils aged 5 to 19 years.

An Ofsted rated good SEND school in Nottingham is lookingfor a dedicated English teacher who can develop ideas for lessons and approaches to teaching.

Preparing pupils for exams, assessments and the next stage of their academic careers.

As a Secondary Teacher you will:

  • Create clear objectives for all lessons, units, and projects, and communicate those objectives to pupils to meet the Curriculum for Excellence national guidance.
  • Plan and conduct activities for a balanced program of instruction, demonstration, and work time that provides pupils with opportunities to observe, question and investigate.
  • Motivate pupils with enthusiastic and creative work schemes using different teaching methods, including solo work, group work, wholeclass work, demonstrations, and experiments.
  • Effectively deploy support staff to suit the specific needs of the pupils.
  • Provide a safe and healthy environment and follow safeguarding procedures.
  • Challenge and rectify inappropriate behaviour following the school's behaviour policy.
  • Create a classroom environment that learners respect and work together to achieving learning goals.
  • Encourage pupils to research topics themselves, helping and supporting individual pupils as required.
  • Set and mark homework, record completion and individual pupil progress.
  • Liaise with senior leadership, parents and external bodies concerning progress, behaviour, child protection and health.


Taking responsibility for the progress and tracking the development of all pupil's concerning English feeding this information back to parents and the Head of Department.


Qualifications/Licences/Certifications
Essential

  • 5 GCSEs at grades 9 to 4 (A* to C), or equivalent, including English, Maths and Science.
  • An Undergraduate Education Degree in English Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE)
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
and

  • Previous secondary school teaching experience.
  • Great English language and Mathematical skills.
  • Fluent level of English, both spoken and written.
