What you will do:


To strengthen our Leadership team, we seek an experienced General Manager to lead our Fire & Security Business based in the UK.

The General Manager has full P&L responsibility for the business. The main aspects of the GM role focus on developing and implementing strategy, general management, and P&L experience.


In addition to this, the GM should have strong change management skills, a consistent track record in growing businesses and be very results oriented.


Reporting directly to the director, the GM is responsible for leading our Fire & Security business and in taking our Fire & Security products and solutions to market.


The GM serves as an active member of the Leadership team working with and supporting other business unit leaders, assisting in sharing of resources and approaches to enhance revenues and profitability.


How you will do it:


  • Successfully runs the resources (people, financial, material) to meet the business plan (revenue, executed margin & trade working capital).
  • Grows the business by working with the BDM to establish and run an overall Fire & Security sales strategy.


Build a climate of sales excellence, characterised by a highly professional sales force, capable to build a high-quality sales pipeline with accurate forecasting and working together on cross selling opportunities.


  • Focuses on customer relationships to strive for excellence as they move through the customer journey. Growth and retention are key.
  • Develops and implements shortand longterm UKI business strategies and plans and establishes market leadership.
  • Acts and runs the business with honesty and integrity, following the highest ethical standards and values; follows all local legal regulations.
  • Drives a culture of Continuous Improvement.
  • Drives focuses on the achievement of high employee engagement, retention and talent development.
  • Promotes and displays a culture of diversity and inclusion within the team and as a leader in LJR Fire & Security Group
  • Supports and drives zero tolerance EHS culture.

Essential skills and knowledge:


  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive responsibility for sales and operations functions business management, with a proven track growth in business growth & development within the UKI.
  • Minimum of 5 to 7 years of general manager experience
  • Excellent Contracting knowledge, experience and industry networks. Competitor experience desirable.
  • Understanding of regulatory maintenance
  • Demonstrates intuition for business
  • Good financial knowledge and understand how to drive a P&L.
  • Experience in working successfully for a multinational and / or matrix organisation
  • Fluent English.
