Are you an English Teacher looking for a new role? Are you experienced working within SEMH settings and want to continue working with vulnerable children and young adults?

One of our fantastic Alternative Provision schools in South Birmingham is looking for an English Teacher to join their dynamic team of staff.

** £28,000 - £40,625 per annum, pro rata

The English Teacher Role:


As an English Teacher at this school, you will be teaching English to classes from Years - 11, following the national curriculum up to GCSE level.

It is important that you plan creative, interesting lessons and effectively manage classroom behaviours, ensuringthat pupils are in lesson and engaging with each topic.

This is the full English Teacher role, so includes planning, marking and assessments, as well as additional responsibilities such as parents evenings and school trips.


The English Teacher:


To be eligible for this English Teacher role, you must be a qualified English Teacher with experience working with challenging behaviour, preferably in an SEMH setting.

You must have impeccable communication skills and a strong knowledge of SEN and SEMH needs,allowing you to understand the individual needs of each pupil and support them accordingly.

It is important that you are someone who can communicate with a trauma-informed, holistic approach. You should have good curriculum knowledge, and be able to demonstratea high standard of lesson planning and delivery.

The School:


This Alternative Provision is located in South Birmingham, and caters for pupils in Key Stages 3 and 4 with SEN, SEMH difficulties and challenging behaviour that mean they no longer attend a mainstream setting.
