Description

This is a term time only position working zero hours (cover) across our Mexborough and Dinnington sites as and when required.

Description:

The purpose of this role is to provide support to young people who struggle to access mainstream education, ether on a 1 to 1 or small group basis.

Young people attend Thrive from 1 to 4 days per week.

The role involves providing personalised packages of activities to each young person, to support them to achieve their goals, raise their self-esteem and increase their comfort and confidence in education.


Responsibilities:


  • To support young people to attend the provision.
  • To support young people to set and monitor personal targets.
  • To provide written reports on students conduct and progress.
  • To safeguard children.
  • To manage the behaviour of young people within the setting.
  • To plan personalised activities for each young person, focussing on their academic, personal and social development.
  • To support young people to work towards accredited qualifications.
  • To build positive working relationships with the young people based on mutual respect and boundaries.
  • To be responsible for the paperwork of a small case load of students.
  • To monitor peer relationships, safety and wellbeing within the sessions. Including the monitoring of equipment ensuring it is used safely and correctly.
  • To communicate with staff, parents/carers, schools and other agencies as required.
  • To work in accordance with Thrive South Yorkshire's policies and procedures.
  • Attendance at staff meetings and training programmes, including those which may fall outside of normal working hours.
  • Any other duties requested by management, which are within scope of the post.


As this role involves working with children, an enhanced DBS will be required prior to an offer of employment being made.

The cost of which will be covered by the organisation.


Job Types:
Part-time, Temp to perm, Zero hours contract


Salary:
£10.00-£11.50 per hour
