Purpose of the Role

I am representing a client based in Lewisham, who are looking for someone to facilitate access to tenanted properties for the purpose of completing essential fire safety and other major works.

You will be expected to manage a caseload of non-complaint FEDs to leaseholders' homes taking action to ensure doors are replaced in a timely manner.

Main Responsibilities

  • Coordinate access between residents and contractors, where access has not been given following the normal processes. Link up where access has not been granted for more than one type of work. Utilise existing access processes (e.g., for gas servicing) where possible.
  • Work with Housing and Home Ownership Officers to ensure support for residents, where specific vulnerabilities impact the ability to give access.
  • Receive referrals for legal action, review and evaluate whether action taken to that point is sufficient for legal action to commence. If not, give timely and effective feedback to the project managers and contractors to ensure the case can progress.
  • Complete legal paperwork to a high standard and refer cases to solicitors as needed. Attend court and give evidence as required. This includes letters before action, injunctions, breach of tenancy possession action, breach of lease action.
  • Update systems and keep accurate, accessible records of progress.
  • Provide regular updates and reports as needed. Attend meetings with internal stakeholders and contractors as needed.
  • Refer safeguarding and welfare concerns in line with Lewisham Homes procedures. Take the lead on providing supporting evidence or management of casework as needed.

Requirements:

  • Experience of working in housing management and/or leasehold management within the social housing sector
  • Experience of supporting vulnerable client groups
  • Experience of working with contractors to deliver outcomes
  • Experience of preparing legal paperwork and attending court
  • Experience of managing challenging service users
