Rothercares Assistive Technology (AT) service is part of the Adult Care team, and its objective is to support vulnerable individuals in maintaining their independence and minimising the risks associated with independent living.

The service provides technology, sensors, and wearables that alert Rothercare, carers, or family members when assistance is required.


Key responsibilities of the AT service include processing assistive technology referrals via LAS or other pathways, scheduling and prioritising the installation of equipment, supporting Adult Social Care workers or partners in identifying potential technology solutions, using the Jontek Monitoring Platform to maintain and monitor audit trails of equipment installations and usage, delivering promotional activities and staff/partner awareness sessions with the Assistive Technology Support Officer, processing returned equipment in an appropriate manner, and assisting with monitoring, ordering, and shelf replenishing of stock.

Additionally, the AT service is responsible for ensuring adequate stock levels are maintained and completing the stock tracker sheet.


Key Responsibilities/Areas of Work

  • Manage basic customer inquiries, such as those received at reception or over the phone.
  • Receive, sort, and distribute incoming mail, process correspondence, and send outgoing mail.
  • Gather information and report back to others.
  • Create and utilise standard letters, templates, databases, spreadsheets, and documentation.
  • Provide assistance and support to staff in using IT packages and systems.
  • Generate management information.
  • Conduct filing, maintain staff records, prepare documents for scanning, photocopying, faxing, arrange meetings and appointments, handle post, and take notes.
  • Offer full support in arranging events, including producing materials, booking venues, and catering, and sending out invitations.
  • Ensure adherence to administrative procedures related to Council Policies, Standing Orders, and Financial Regulations by providing advice and administrative support.
  • Manage and reconcile cash in accordance with established procedures.
