Senior Project Engineer

What you'll do:
- Work as part of a project team delivering control system projects
- Assist the Project Manager in developing and formulating the Functional Design Specifications to meet project requirements
- Work within the project time scales, independently formulate, and develop the software to meet the functional requirements
- Working within the project time scales, independently develop test procedures, and carry out functional testing of the assembled system
- Carry out onsite commissioning of the assembled system as required
- Be willing to work flexible hours to meet project targets and take out of hours customer telephone support
- Attend client meetings to discuss project requirements
- Partake in offshore work as and when required
- Partake in project work abroad as and when required
- Assist in preparation of sales proposals as and when required
What you'll need:
- HND or equivalent in a relevant discipline
- Experience in developing PLC software for major manufacturers with at least 1 of the following: Rockwell, GE, Siemens or Triconex
- Experience in developing SCADA software for major manufacturers with at least 1 of the following: Wonderware, Siemens Rockwell & GE
- Experience of working with Information Management Systems desirable but not essential
- Experience of working in the control and automation projects across several industries
- Experience of Functional Safety and developing systems in accordance with IEC 61508 / 6151
- Ability to analyse user requirements and formulate a solution
- Ability to create technical specifications and test plans
- Possess the aptitude for future professional development with a view of taking on Senior project engineer responsibilities
- Proficient IT skills with particular emphasis on Microsoft Office and the ability to produce written documents of a good standard
- Good communication and interpersonal skills at all levels
- Ability manage time and organise workload to meet deadlines
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- A passport and a full UK driving license
