Your dream role:

We are hiring Vehicle Builders to manufacture coaches & buses to the design/customer specification.

The main responsibilities of the role will be:

  • To identify the manufacturing requirements for task by assessing the Build & Quality requirements from any available sources e.g. works instructions/specifications, engineering drawings, etc.
  • To select appropriate tools, equipment, materials and fixings as required for work tasks.
  • To ensure all tools & equipment selected are inspected prior to use.
  • To operate tools, equipment & machinery in a safe & competent manner and to comply with any safety regulations.
  • To fit & assemble a variety of components to different types of vehicle bodies & in a variety of situations.
  • To work in a safe manner, using appropriate PPE as necessary.
  • To ensure the work environment is maintained in a safe & tidy manner & to sweep work area on a daily basis.
  • To report any equipment malfunctions as soon as possible.
  • To report any injuries or near misses as soon as possible.
  • To achieve required Quality standards.
  • To report any material/components faults, breakages or supply issues.
  • To complete daily timesheets or sign off documentation as required.

What you will bring:

-
Time Served Apprenticeship in Vehicle Assembly
or a certificate of Apprenticeship in a Craft or Allied Trade
or Qualified to minimum of NVQ Level 2 in a craft trade
or Can demonstrate occupational competence in a manufacturing or engineering environment

  • Able to work in a safe manner recognising potential risk to oneself and ones work colleagues
  • Able to work on own but also as part of a team
  • Able to work under own initiative and minimum supervision
  • Able to use a range of hand & power tools as required to undertake designated work task efficiently
