Building Safety Consultant/ Building Regs Principal Designer Role

We are seeking a Registered Architect or Architectural Technologist to deliver the BRPD service.

About the Job

The role has been created in response to industry changes related to the Building Safety Act and our client's desire to integrate their PD and Building Safety service offering.

The successful candidate will work with a diverse portfolio of clients across the built environment, delivering the BRPD service on projects in various sectors.

Main Responsibilities

• Develop and Implement Strategies: Ensure design and construction activities adhere to the Building Safety Act 2022 and relevant building regulations.
• Liaise with Design Team Members: Collaborate with Principal Designer, Fire Engineers, MEP, Principal Contractor, Architects, and other parties to ensure buildings regulations compliance.
• Support Clients: Assist clients with relevant planning gateways.
• Plan Checks and Inspections: Undertake plan checks and review designs for submission to Building Regulation approval.
• Site Inspections: Inspect properties and buildings at key stages of the building process.
• Client Meetings: Attend client and design team meetings to offer professional input relating to building regs compliance.
• Technical Advice: Provide technical advice to clients, contractors, developers, colleagues, and key stakeholders.

Requirements

• Qualifications: Degree in a design-related field (desirable).
• Professional Membership: Membership to RIBA, ARB, or CIAT.
• Knowledge and Skills: Excellent knowledge of the BSA, building regulations, codes, and legislation. Excellent interpersonal communication skills.

• Salary: £50,000 - £55,000.
