Cordius are recruiting for a Legal Secretary in Birmingham.

Our client is a top 150 national law firm with five offices across the Midlands and East Anglia, this position is a great opportunity to work within their conveyancing department.


Purpose & Objective of Job:


  • To provide secretarial and other related services to relevant fee earner/department.
  • Being trusted advisors to clients and colleagues
  • Working to become recognised experts in chosen specialisms
  • Developing longstanding relationships with key clients and internal teams

Duties, Tasks, and Responsibilities:


  • Arrange for accurate conveyancing quote
  • Assist in managing conveyancing transactions
  • Respond to client / estate agents' queries
  • Assist with completions
  • Preparation of contract and transfer documents (training given)
  • Liaise with Mortgage Lenders
  • Update Lenders portals
  • Passing file to relevant fee earner to allow ID checks to be requested, upon receipt of signed instructions

Skills/Knowledge, Abilities and Personal Attributes Required:

  • Microsoft Office
  • Audio Typing
  • Previous legal secretarial experience
  • Legal Terminology and Forms
  • Knowledge of Legal Services Commission Forms
  • Professional telephone and client manner
  • Good time management and organisational skills
  • A proactive and positive approach to work
  • Professional written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fastpaced environment
