FACILITIES MANAGER

We're on the hunt for a 'hands on' experienced Facilities Manager to take full responsibility for the day to day running of the building, ensuring the building operates successfully by monitoring the building's condition and identify when repairs or maintenanceare needed.

Ideally as Facilities Manager you could carry out some of the maintenance and repairs if within your capabilities or source contractors, negotiate the best rates and ensure the work is carried out on time and to the brief.

Salary - £35-40K depending on experience + excellent benefits
Key responsibilities for the Facilities Manager include,

  • Opening or closing the site
  • Inspecting a building and its operations to determine vital services, repairs and maintenance
  • Managing building and system emergencies as they arise
  • Sourcing contractors and suppliers for repairs, maintenance, cleaning, renovations, waste disposal and security
  • Managing budgets and accounts, including areas for cost savings
  • Developing building plans outlining strategies for improving efficiency and reducing costs and forecasting the facility's future needs
  • Writing maintenance reports/SPRs
  • Ensuring compliance with all safety and security protocols
  • Completing work internally rather than contracting out (when appropriate)
  • Maintaining a regular maintenance schedule with dates
  • Any other tasks as directed by the HR Manager
The ideal Facilities Manager will need the following,

  • Previous experience within a similar role requiring a 'hands on' approach to facilities/building maintenance
  • Hold plumbing or electrical experience (with qualification)
  • Have a willingness to complete work themselves
  • Computer literacy and confidence using MS Office, management programs
  • Be highly organised with the ability to manage and lead projects and teams
  • Strong decision and problem solving skills essential
This role would suit a locally based 'hands on' Facilities Manager with great communication skills and the ability to manage a complex, varied workload
