Essential
- ? Demonstrated hands-on experience in Linux solution design and implementation

Expertise in Linux architecture, and Linux security models
Linux directory service design (LDAP, NIS etc.)
Clear understanding of Linux permissions models, and how they interact with windows

permissions models under shared storage situations.

Understanding of how Linux solutions fit into the broader IT ecosystem, including integration of

authentication, and directory services with other platforms.

Ability to identify likely performance bottlenecks within a proposed design, and to propose

scalable solutions to mitigate this.

Ability to communicate clearly, accurately and succinctly, both verbally, and via documentation.
An ability to analyse a new demand, identify both hard requirements, and desirable features, and

then to propose a solution which best fits with the existing IT ecosystem.
