Description
We are currently recruiting for a Plasma Cutter Machine operator to join a growing steelwork business.

A skilled Plasma Machine operator, you will be required to operate a CNC plasma machine from pre-set job sheets.

During machine down times you will be expected to perform various fabrication tasks including fabrication and welding, drilling, grinding and beam preparation and cutting steel on a band saw.


Key responsibilities:

  • Prepare and load steel sheets onto the machine bed using an overhead crane and process using the plasma machine.
  • Cutting steel plate using a hand grinder.
  • Maintain stock of consumable material, notifying management of any low stock prior to outage.
  • Supervise the machinery and make necessary adjustments to produce quality results.
  • Measuring and marking dimensions on sheet metals.
  • Liaise with the manufacturing department with daily plasma tasks, highlighting any expected machine down time due to maintenance.
  • Keep workspace clean and organised, marking plates and organising them into job specific sections for fabricators to easily identify.
  • Regularly checking plate and hole dimensions, Highlighting to manufacturing department any poor quality or out of tolerance plates.
  • Maintain plant and equipment inline with the schedules and carry out maintenance as required.
  • Maintain established housekeeping standards and practices.
  • Ability to read and understand fabrication drawings.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures.
  • Any other duties as reasonably requested by your Production Manager/ Senior management team.

Salary:
£37,500.00-£50,000.00 per year

  • Monday to Friday

Experience:

Press Brake Operator: 1 year (preferred)
