HEAD OF FINANCE - MUSIC/ ENTERTAINMENT - REMOTE


One of the UK's largest independent electronic music promotion companies are looking for a new Head of Finance, on a remote working model.

This company works with the biggest artists and venues as well as developing new events. They are part of a globalgroup of entertainment and content companies, with an impressive 2023 event roster.

This really is a fantastic opportunity for an exceptional department lead, to join the growing finance function,
support the CEO and feed in to the group CFO. The role will manage the overall finances of the
company with support from the finance manager, and assistants.


Responsibilities:


  • Weekly settlement of shows and chasing money owed
  • Timely forecasting for larger events with a summary page showing breakevens and risk
  • Event budgets including ticketing forecasts
  • Analyse underperforming shows by comparing to forecasts. Liaise with the marketing team via weekly meetings.
  • Compare actual ticket sales to budgets and update team on the performance of events
  • Regular and timely cash flow projections for events and shows, with updates to parent company.
  • Lead the update calls with management and understand their requirements
  • Internal reporting to group CFO monthly financials including profit & loss, balance sheet, cash flow forecast.
  • Review and approve weekly payment lists, oversee accounts payable, reconcile intercompany loan accounts
  • Preparation and filing of VAT and FEU Returns
  • Continuous process improvement
  • Any other relevant task as advised by directors and the group CFO

Skills:


  • Accounting qualification ACCA or CIMA
  • Effective time management
  • Excellent Microsoft Excel skills
  • Experience of using Xero accounting
  • Experience of working in a finance department and taking ownership of reporting
  • Experience in budgeting and cash flow management
  • Experience in a music, media or creative organisation would be beneficial
  • Ability to multitask and prioritise effectively
  • Ability to demonstrate delivery of timely, accurate and concise reports
  • Prioritisation of tasks and meeting deadlines are important parts of the job
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Detail oriented
  • Selfmotivated and adaptable
  • Ability to work both alone and as part of a team and across functions
