This is an opportunity to join the Payroll team within Financial Control. You will be expected to hit the ground running providing essential financial control services.

As a member of the Payroll team you will be responsible for ensuring that colleagues are paid accurately, timely and in accordance to HMRC rules and that we account accurately for payroll.
As a part of the wider Financial Control team, you will work with colleagues to develop the services we provide.
Job description:
As a Payroll Officer, you will provide support to the Payroll Manager on all aspects of payroll and tax compliance to ensure that the Agency effectively manages the delivery of payroll in partnership with our Shared Services environment.
- Contributing to managing the monthly payroll, such as submitting payroll information to our Shared Services provider, resolving payroll issues, ensuring records are accurate and delivering an excellent customer service.
- Assisting with the preparation of the annual P11D's and PSA submissions.
- Using IT systems (SAP, Excel, Power BI, etc.) to accurately reconcile complex payroll information and provide report
These include:
Payroll & VAT - Responsible for managing the payroll including compliance with HMRC and legislation. Ensuring compliance with VAT rules.
Banking - Managing receipts and payments through the banking process. Supporting the reconciliation of the bank account, ensuring issues are resolved in a timely manner.
Accounts Receivable - Tracking, reconciling and controlling income as services are delivered through business systems, raising invoices and resolving customer queries, processing refunds.
Accounts Payable - Involvement in purchase to pay and travel, subsistence and expenses.
Person specification:
Team working is at the heart of what we do. We are looking for someone who thrives on collaborating and working flexibly to achieve joint goals.
You are numerate and have direct experience of working in either payroll or accounting
You will have experience of working with digital systems (e.g. ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle).
You will also be competent with Microsoft Office (i.e. Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint).

Additional Information
There may be occasional travel required with this role to other DVSA locations, including overnight stays.
We operate a hybrid working model that allows you to work between home and office locations, giving you greater flexibility about where and when you work.
