Non-destructive Testing Operator - Harlow, United Kingdom - Recruit With Ease
Description
Our client based in Harlow is currently recruiting for a Non-Destructive Testing Operator (NDT) to join their growing team on a permanent basis.
Responsibilities
- You will have, but not be limited to, the following responsibilities:
- Carry out Penetrant Flaw Detect (PFD) testing of customer products.
- Carry out Magnetic Flaw Detect (MFD) testing of customer products.
- Carry out Hardness Testing of customer products.
- Carry out Etch Inspection of customer products.
- Keeping measuring equipment operational by following operating instructions and ensuring repairs and calibration testing are completed on time and to schedule.
- Maintaining a safe working environment by following standards and procedures whilst complying with legal requirements.
- Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and reading technical publications.
- Consulting with management, individual departments, and staff with regards to specification compliance and special processes compliance.
- Consulting with the Quality Manager, to ensure compliance to ISO9001 and NADCAP.
- Identifying root cause and corrective actions to answer both internal and external nonconformances.
- Consulting with clients and prime customers, to ensure compliance to requirements, identifying gaps or nonconformances and required concessions.
- Identifying nonconformances, gaps and corrective actions using Process Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (PFMEA). Then, if required consulting with clients and prime customers, to ensure compliance to requirements and required concessions.
- Occasional absence cover for team members to cover holidays and sickness. The generation of process data cards to meet specific client and specification requirements.
- Working alongside the Quality Manager to resolve technical issues.
Requirements:
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Able to read and use a variety of handheld measuring equipment.
- To be able to work to and understand Quality Specifications
- Working knowledge of FMEA principles.
- Effective Time Management.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Able to work alone and as part of a team.
- Chemistry, Engineering or Applied Sciences qualification.
- Minimum of 5 years in a similar role.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Special Processes.
- A basic understanding of Anodising, Electroplating, Electroless coatings, Conversion Coatings, Primers, and Paints. This will be taught as part of your CPD anyway.
- An understanding of NADCAP and ISO900
- An understanding of Non-Destructive Testing would be desirable but not essential.
Hours of work
Monday to Thursday 8am - 4:45pm and Friday £8am - 2pm.

£28000 per annum
