DOMESTIC CLEANER
Accountable to:
Care Centre Manager
Job Purpose:
To ensure a clean and hygienic environment in all areas of the home. In so doing recognise the resident's rights to privacy and dignity.
Principal Responsibilities:
1 To provide a good standard of cleanliness and hygiene within the workplace and to promote a safe environment for all residents, staff and visits to the home.
2 Ensure all cleaning products are stored in a locked cupboard at all times and products are used correctly using personal protective equipment as necessary.
3 To ensure that all cleaning equipment and materials are not left unattended.
4 To ensure waste is disposed of correctly.
5 To ensure all cleaning materials are used correctly and in a cost effective manner.
6 To ensure an adequate supply of hand towels and toilet rolls at all times and that soap dispensers are filled.
8 Be aware of overall maintenance reporting as necessary by completing the maintenance log or advising the Manager/person in charge.
10 Maintain necessary records ensuring these are completed by end of each shift.
11 Ensure confidentiality is maintained in handling all sensitive information to include resident and staff information. Files should be kept locked away. Information should not be left out. (see record keeping policy attached)
12 Maintain accurate records in accordance with Company policies.
13 Attend staff meetings as required.
14 Complete all training as per Company programme.
LAUNDRY ASSISTANT
Principal Responsibilities:
- On a daily basis plan and manage laundry procedures and the required flow of laundry to prevent a build-up. As necessary collect laundry from areas of the Home at regular intervals.
- To ensure all items are laundered in accordance with the recommended washing instructions.
- To iron laundry as necessary.
- To ensure correct procedures are adopted to promote control of infection
- To perform minor repairs to the residents' clothing as appropriate.
- To check personal items to ensure these are marked with the resident's name and reporting as necessary to the Manager.
- Distribute clothes to the residents' rooms ensuring these are put away neatly in drawers and wardrobe as appropriate.
- To ensure correct use of laundry equipment reporting any problems to the Manager or the Senior person in charge.
- To ensure all chemicals, detergents are used and stored correctly, and to include the use of personal protective equipment provided.
- To ensure an adequate stock available of required cleaning agents.
- To ensure the laundry room and store area are kept clean and tidy. On a daily basis wash down washing machines and tumble dryers, clean out lint trays/vents from dryers and mop floors.
- To participate in staff meetings.
- To work in accordance with the home's policies and procedures at all times, ensuring a high level of health and safety, control of infection and COSHH.
15 Maintain accurate records in accordance with Company policies.
Pay:
£11.44 per hour
Expected hours: 34 per week
