Job Title - Business Development Manager

Location - Canterbury

Salary - £40k plus

On behalf of our client, we are currently recruiting for a Business Development Manager to join a forward-thinking leader in Engineering and Manufacturing.

Key Duties

Interfaces between customers and other functions within the organisation to provide service to new and developing customers.
Provides presales technical assistance and product education, demonstrating how a capability meets client needs, and advising on appropriate technical solutions.
Liaises with Engineering function on customer technical requirements and potential solutions.
Ensures that responses to customer enquiries are completed on a timely basis to achieve service and quality standards.
Creates, monitors and revises lead generation plans to drive a substantive sales opportunity pipeline.
Submits reports detailing sales statistics such as order levels, margin levels, call rates, leads, etc.
Maintains uptodate and comprehensive knowledge of the market and competitors' products and/or services.
Specifically responsible for developing new business from new accounts.
Manages performance through key performance indicators and responsible for achieving profitable growth in line with the business objectives.
Develops strategic plans for the export business development and understands multicultural behaviours.
Conducts joint visits with Engineering and other relevant departments and provides feedback to the business.
Responsible for achieving and reporting order intake, as well as budgets and forecasts.
Develops a longerterm vision on account management i.e. customer classification and prioritisation.
Working with the management team to scope and define annual KPI's.
Represents and presents the company and capabilities / services at intercompany meetings and at tradeshows and exhibitions.

A background in Engineering and the ability to demonstrate a technical understanding is also desirable.
