We are seeking a dynamic and inspirational non-teaching member of staff to be Head of Year and responsible for a year group of 180 students.

Ideally, we are looking for someone with pastoral experience, along with a proven track record of building great relationships with students, parents and staff, and someone who is relentless in their high expectations of students' achievements and behaviour.

Our Head of Year team are responsible for the pastoral care of our students, along with the monitoring and support of their academic progress.

The post holder will lead a team of six tutors who are all passionate about their students' success and you will be supported by a strong leadership team who are ambitious for every individual student.

Our Head of Year team also have excellent support from our extended Student Support Team, including the Welfare Team, Engagement Team and Learning Support team.

We also have a counsellor and an attendance officer.

We have a team of excellent teachers and Middle leaders across the school and our students are a delight to work with.

You will liaise with parents and external agencies, as well as staff within the school.

You will track progress and plan interventions, working with form tutors and Heads of Departments in order that all students are supported to reach their full potential.

With a proven track record of success and high expectations of student achievement and behaviour management, you will be passionate about every student being supported to achieve their full potential.

You will also take on a key role in the safeguarding of our students.

This is an ideal opportunity for someone interested in pastoral leadership who is taking on their first middle management post, or for someone who has some experience in pastoral leadership and wants the next step on their career path.

We are an 11-16 Academy of 860 students, situated in a fantastic location on the outskirts of Haslemere.

Haslemere lies in Surrey, on the border with Hampshire and West Sussex and we have excellent road and rail links to neighbouring counties.

We are situated just 3 minutes' drive off the main A3 and we are also fortunate to have a train station in Haslemere on the mainline from Portsmouth to London Waterloo.

This makes us very accessible from the South Coast or outer London areas by train or car.

Salary:
WA6/7 _(Exact range to be determined dependent on experience and qualifications)_

Hours:34 hours per week, over 5 days, term time + 1 week
