We currently have an exciting opportunity for an individual to join our growing team at the Nuffield Department of Orthopaedic, Rheumatology and Musculoskeletal Sciences (NDORMS) as an Information Governance Officer to be based at Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre Windmill Road, Oxford.


As an Information Governance Coordinator you will support the Information Governance Manager in developing, embedding and maintaining departmental policies and procedures relating to information governance and security that comply with University and external requirements.

You will provide operational support on day-to-day issues to all levels of staff to ensure compliance with information governance, data access, information sharing, records management, information security and associated requirements.

You will represent the department at internal and external information governance meetings, undertake mandatory training as required and contribute to the information governance community at Medical Sciences Division.

You will be educated to a graduate level or have equivalent and relevant experience.

A broad understanding of Information Governance and/or Security, an awareness of the Data Protection Act (DPA), UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and other relevant legislations are essential.

As are excellent organizational skills and attention to detail with proven ability to work both independently and as part of a team, be proactive and show initiative.

Experience of delivering security and governance training programs, Experience with ISO 27001 and Experience with NHS Data Security and Protection Toolkit (DSPT) are desirable.

This is a full-time fixed-term for 2 years post.
