Description

We are seeking to appoint an experienced IT Security Engineer to further support our central IT Infrastructure and IT Security team.

Working closely with our department lead you will safeguard the organisation's computer networks and systems. Plan and carryout security measures to monitor and protect sensitive data and systems from infiltration and cyber-attacks.


Ideally you will have worked within a large company environment previously as within an IT Infrastructure or Security Engineer role.

preferably manufacturing but not essential.


The role itself will be hands on, so ideally you will be interested in being involved in a broader range of tasks supporting the infrastructure team as well as your focus on Cyber security.


Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for educating the workforce on information security through training and building awareness.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve escalated issues
  • Create and maintain documentation relating to IT security and processes.
  • Develop tools to assist in modelling, analysis, detection, and prevention of security threats.
  • Schedule outages, maintenance, downtime, tests or any work requiring service availability changes with relevant business units.
  • Secure the system while ensuring ease of use for the user and network operations.
  • Stay current on industry developments affecting security and privacy policy.
  • Implement security measures, plans and polices to resolve vulnerabilities, mitigate risks and recommend security changes to system or system components as needed.
  • Ensure all back up and disaster recovery solutions are in place and functional.
  • IT hardware and software asset management including polices that govern its disposal.
  • Responsible for incident response activities from inception to remediation.
  • Carry out and evaluate regular internal and external vulnerability scans with the aid of our 3rd party providers\internal scanning tools.
  • Proactively monitor and resolve issues with all IT systems.

Skills, Experience & Qualifications

  • Advanced administration of Group Policy and AD.
  • Good working knowledge and experience of Windows server OS.
  • Experience of virtualisation technologies (preferably VMware).
  • Firewall administration and configuration.
  • Network switch configuration, preferably HPE\Aruba stack switches.
  • Good understanding of Backup solutions.
  • Good Understanding of a wide range of security products such as.
