As well as owning a household retail brand, our respected foodservice business works in close partnership with distributors, chefs and caterers across thousands of the country's pubs, restaurants, hospitals and schools.

We're recruiting for a Manufacturing Intern.


You'll join a line of successful interns that have all been in the same shoes, who've spent 12 months of their time at University walking through the doors of our HQ to gain some valuable experience.

Some of which have since returned to continue their careers with us.

Joining us in July 2023, you'll spend the next 12 months working alongside our regional and plant manufacturing teams.

You'll get an insight into what life is like working for one of the largest frozen food companies in the world, and experience lots of different elements within manufacturing.

Your main focus area will be our McCain Driving Impact (MDI) framework, exploring performance in our plants, ensuring that the people at the heart of our business have autonomy and are empowered to make decisions.

There will be a people focus on educating and coaching our people, as well as root cause analysis and problem solving.


You'll get some hands on experience working in our manufacturing facilities and gain a deep understanding of all our functional areas including safety, engineering, production, quality and supply chain.

Working on some tasty projects alongside our teams, you'll also live and breathe the little wins that come with working in a professional manufacturing team, whilst also experiencing some of the real life challenges that go with it.


As an intern, you'll not only get hands on experience, but you'll also experience development within a professional environment where you'll work towards set objectives, with a clear development plan and regular one to one's with your line manager.

You'll also build a network both inside and outside of McCain as well as creating connections with other interns across the business.


WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

But you must also

  • Be currently studying a relevant degree in Manufacturing or equivalent.
  • Have a passion and interest for food.
  • Have a full UK driving licence
  • Be seeking a 12 month placement year to support your degree studies (which will run from July to June)
  • Must be available to start early July.
  • And of course, a love of potatoes

WHERE YOU'LL WORK


You'll be in a regionally based role, so depending on the exciting projects you'll work on, you could regularly visit or be based at any of our UK Manufacturing sites.
