Associate - Treasury Operations


What is the opportunity?


You will be part of the Treasury Operations team providing risk mitigation functions in a variety of ways across the business including hedging, overdraft and projection reporting, reconciliation, and collateral management.


Working within the team to maintain our BAU focus whilst also demonstrating 360 degree knowledge of the process to assist in process improvement and enhancement.


What will you do?

  • Manage the local currency FX risk under the Treasury Ops Hedging Policy
  • Monitor cash projections, raising FX to cover local asset trade or repatriation purposes, liaising with Investment Teams for projected shortfalls.
  • Capture and process cashflow activity on all funds, including share class hedging, reconciliation, and communication.
  • Margin calls; Treasury Operations are responsible for issuing and reverting to margin calls across all underlying products and where required investigating disputes and reconciliation differences such that portfolio risk is mínimalised.
  • Proactively investigate and resolve any reconciliation breaks against counterparties, custodians and prime brokers, across cash, stock and positions
  • Daily overdraft monitoring across all funds, liaising with the Operations and Investment Teams and London, Stamford and Minneapolis to resolve.
  • Assist Transitions Management under the full client experience process, more namely through fund onboardings, in species and changes.
  • Take an active role in identifying and testing discretionary system or process enhancements including upgrades and a move towards greater STP.
  • Operate within the existing operational risk framework whilst identifying any new controls or enhancements.

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • Understanding of the collateral management lifecycle e.g. calculation, calls, settlement, reconciliation.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritise according to intraday deadlines.
  • Establishes and maintains good relationships and works effectively and cooperatively with others. Communicates constructively, engages others positively and readily shares information and ideas
  • Ability to work well as part of a team, and cultivate relationships across the organisation with staff of all levels.
  • Risk focused mindset

Nice-to-have

  • Prior experience using standard collateral software, e.g. Acadia Margin Manager, Colline etc.
  • Knowledge of various fund structures and the requirements from a Treasury and Collateral aspect e.g. UCITS, US 40 Act, Canadian NI81102 etc.
  • Experience in a treasury or trade flow function
