TEACHING ASSISTANT 1:1

25 hours per week, Term time plus training days

Grade 3 Point 6 - £13,730 per annum


We are seeking to appoint a dedicated, enthusiastic, and creative Teaching Assistant to support a Year 2 pupil with speech & language difficulties, social interaction and communication difficulties and Global Learning Delay.

The role would be for 25 hours per week. The position would commence as soon as possible and would be term time plus non-contact days.


The role will involve working with the child to meet their targets within the classroom environment and individually, delivering a range of approaches and interventions to support the specific needs of the child.


We are looking for a TA who:

  • Has experience of working with pupils with SEND.
  • Has knowledge of using speech & language programmes and assessment tools for example; WellComm and First Call would be desirable, but training can be given.
  • Is creative, reflective and enjoys supporting children's learning.
  • Understands how young children learn to support progress.
  • Has the skills to organise and deliver personalised intervention sessions.
  • Is experienced in creating communication resources for example; social stories, visual classroom aids.
  • Has experience in deescalation strategies and behaviour management.
  • Has excellent literacy, numeracy and communication skills at GCSE Grade 4 level or equivalent.
  • Works effectively as part of a team, including communicating with outside agencies.
