Airport Duty Manager
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Airport Duty Manager to join a leading organisation based in Belfast.

This is a Full-Time, Permanent Position

Working hours: 41 hours per week (shift basis and includes weekend working)

With a salary of £37,000 per annum (dependent on experience)


Job role:


As Airport Duty Manager, you will be responsible for "on the day" management to ensure a safe, secure, compliant and customer focused operation.


Essential Criteria:


  • Proven operational and managerial experience, within a customer focused environment within the last 3 years and ideally in an airport environment
  • Undergo a Department for Transport Approved Counter Terrorist Check (CTC)
  • Achieved Grade C or above in GCSE Mathematics and English Language or equivalent
  • The ability to negotiate while protecting the reputation and interests of the business
  • Financial and budgetary awareness
  • Strong interpersonal skills with proven ability to establish positive working relationships

Main Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Responsible for always promoting the delivery of exemplary customer service.
  • Monitor and report on a range of KPI's to ensure that agreed service standards are being met or exceeded.
  • Accountable for compliments and complaints responding in a timely manner and cascading as appropriate, following up to ensure they are resolved/closed to the satisfaction of the customer.
  • Actively contribute knowledge and expertise to crossairport initiatives that improve operating efficiencies and customer experience. To coordinate the airport operation on an hour tohour basis working closely with all other departments such as AirfieldOperations and Ground Handling to ensure an efficient operation and to minimise any potential service disruption.
  • First point of contact for stakeholders on daytoday operations maintaining a strong working relationship.
  • To undertake all first stage threat assessments within the airport.
  • Respond effectively and in a timely manner to unexpected situations and circumstances as they arise, while assessing the potential impact to the business.
  • To ensure compliance with all legal, statutory and company obligations on an ongoing basis including compliance with CAA directives & airport directives.
  • Ensure all health & safety events are recorded within the safety management system, fully investigated and actions arising closed with corrective actions implemented where required.
  • To direct and coordinate operations during emergency incidents in conjunction with the Senior Management Team, minimising disruption and in accordance with the Emergency Orders.
  • Contract cost monitoring and control to deliver optimal service.
  • Undertake specific projects as directed by the Operations Manager and Security Manager.
  • Promote the concept of one airport team among business partners and colleagues to deliver a seamless customer experience.
  • Liaison with the management, of all departments, key business partners and control authorities to ensure all customer requirements are understood, met and where possible exceeded.
