Kitchen Assistant required for busy and vibrant hostel

Salary £10.73 per hour part time and/or full time

Urban Housing Services requires a Kitchen Assistant to work in our hostel in Wakefield. The hostel provides fully catered emergency accommodation for people seeking asylum. The hostel can accommodate up to 330 people. We provide three meals a day. This post requires someone that is prepared to work flexibly including evening and weekends. The work environment is fast paced, challenging and very rewarding for the right dynamic individual.

Work in a large scale kitchen

Prepare and cook food under supervision

Good knowledge of food preparation and cooking skills.

Maintain a clean and safe environment

To clean tables and floor during and after meal times

To assist in the cleaning of the pots and pans

Working within legislation relating to food preparation and health & safety

Good customer service and communication skills

Have proof of right to work in the UK
Be prepared to undertake a Disclosure & Disbarring check & BPSS check
Basic Food and Hygiene certificate
Be sensitive to the needs of people seeking asylum
