Description
The Medical Education Department provides education, training and support to junior doctors working across Bristol and Weston (UHBW).


The post holder would support the accreditation process ensuring that all educational and clinical supervisors are adequately trained and remunerated to support trainee doctors.

The post holder will also collate and maintain information relating to supervisors and trainees as well as financial remuneration.


The post holder would also support timetabling the Adult Grand Round teaching programme ensuring it's regularly promoted and accessible to all medical and dental staff at UHBW.

The PGME office is open from 8am to 4.30pm.


The post holder will be scheduled primarily on-site to assist with office queries and to assist with setting up audio visual equipment and training rooms.


  • Maintain the accreditation database on a daily basis, updating education, supervision and remuneration records
  • Regularly request junior doctor supervision lists from Specialty Tutors and input data on accreditation database
  • Update the Health Education South West Deanery database and ensure it reflects University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust accreditation database
  • Cross reference Divisional records to ensure educational supervisors are being adequately remunerated
  • Add new consultant accounts to the accreditation database and offer accreditation training upon commencement of their role
  • Advertise Continuing Professional Development sessions, module 15 courses and maintain registers as required
  • Create virtual links for remote sessions and book training rooms
  • Set up training rooms with audio visual equipment, tables and chairs for training and promotional events
  • Maintain event registers and register participants
  • Request and collate feedback from module 15 and Continuing Professional Development sessions
  • Create and disseminate certificates following courses and events
  • Regularly contact active educational and clinical supervisors as a reminder to update their Continuing Professional Development training
  • Escalate noncompliance of training requirements to the Business/Administration Manager
  • Create regular reports relating to education, supervision and remuneration
