Description:

We are currently looking for a Health, Safety, and Environment
(HSE) Advisor to join our client's team in Stirling. Start/End dates 08/04/ /09/2024, with the potential to extend beyond to support commissioning.

The role offers a gross basic PAYE rate of £575 per day, which includes holiday pay, totalling £660. Alternatively, there is an option for a gross limited rate of £770. Please note that this position falls within IR35 regulations.

The job entails working five days a week, Monday to Friday, with shifts extending for 11 hours per day. Weekend work may be required occasionally to meet project needs.


Job Duties & Responsibilities:


  • Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify environmental, health, and safety hazards, supporting the EHS Manager.
  • Review contractor risk assessments and collaborate on implementing risk mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure all construction activities adhere to UK regulations and company EHS standards and procedures.
  • Conduct comprehensive EHS induction sessions for new hires and contractors to instil awareness of safety protocols and procedures.
  • Assist the EHS Manager in conducting thorough investigations following reported accidents or incidents, offering support throughout the process.
  • Provide guidance to contractors on waste management, pollution control, and sustainable practices to ensure compliance with environmental regulations and minimize ecological impact.
  • Maintain meticulous and up to date EHS records, including risk assessments, active monitoring activities, and training documentation.
  • Collaborate with the EHS Manager to ensure all staff meet monthly EHS active monitoring targets.
  • Maintain a visible presence in the field to offer guidance, coaching, and advice to contractor teams regarding EHSrelated matters.
  • Assume delegated responsibilities from the EHS Manager during vacation periods to ensure continuity of EHS management.
  • Support mechanical and civil supervisors by issuing daily construction work permits. Uphold accurate recordkeeping practices in alignment with company standards and procedures.

Qualifications & Experience:


  • NEBOSH National Certificate in Construction Health and Safety or equivalent as a minimum.
  • Proven experience in an EHS role within the construction industry.
  • Deep knowledge of UK health, safety, and environmental legislation.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Strong organisational and problemsolving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Proficiency in EHS management systems and Microsoft Office Suite.

Pay rate and Bonus Structure:

£575 gross basic PAYE per day = £660 including holiday pay. £770 gross limited equivalent. Inside IR35
