Careers Education Information Advice Guidance & Alumni Support Officer
Location of Work:
Bridgewater High School Upper & Lower School Sites
Hours of Duty: 37 hours per week, 39 weeks per year (Term Time only plus one week - GCSE Results week)

Bridgewater High School is seeking a dynamic and dedicated CEIAG & Alumni Support Officer to join our team. This role involves developing relationships with educational institutions and the business community, providing impartial careers advice, and managing our alumni network. You will play a crucial role in supporting students' career aspirations and maintaining strong ties with our alumni.
Key Responsibilities:
General:
- Develop robust relationships with FE Colleges, vocational institutions, and the business community to identify opportunities for students.
- Provide onetoone and group careers support, advice, and mentoring.
- Maintain accurate records of pupil interventions and intentions.
- Track and support atrisk students to prevent them from becoming NEET (Not in Education, Employment, or Training).
- Identify and support students needing additional guidance to remove barriers to learning.
- Report student progress and destinations to the Senior Leadership Team and Local Authority.
- Grow and engage a network of parents, alumni, and business partners for mentorship and work experience opportunities.
- Manage the careers section of the school's website and social media.
- Promote equality and diversity.
Careers:
- Provide impartial support, advice, and mentoring to students.
- Deliver a highquality careers education program in partnership with external agencies.
- Follow the agreed delivery plan for CEIAG in the school.
- Collaborate with Pastoral Leaders and the PSHE Coordinator on program requirements.
- Work with curriculum areas to develop careers activities and enterprise links.
- Organize careers interviews for students on alternative education routes.
- Advise on career opportunities and pathways.
- Represent the school in external CEIAG meetings and ensure resources are uptodate.
- Meet with parents during evenings and offer guidance on GCSE results day.
- Organize and assist with annual events such as mock interviews and careers weeks.
- Communicate effectively with parents, students, and staff.
- Regularly meet with the Assistant Head to set aspirational goals for students.
- Ensure inclusivity for pupils with special educational needs, disabilities, and those at risk of becoming NEET.
Alumni:
- Recruit and maintain the school's alumni network.
- Act as the primary contact for alumni, providing exceptional service and managing enquiries.
- Keep the alumni database updated.
- Develop relationships with alumni to support school events and CEIAG initiatives.
- Organize alumni events both online and inperson.
Other Duties:
- Evaluate the impact of resources and systems.
- Monitor CEIAG delivery and prepare reports as required.
- Develop stakeholder engagement to support the school's CEIAG and Alumni initiatives.
Person Specification:
Essential:
- Relevant experience in careers advice or a related field.
- Successful experience managing projects and working collaboratively with stakeholders.
- Experience working with children and young people.
- 5 GCSEs (grades 94 / A*C) including English and Maths.
- Level 6 Diploma in Career Guidance and Development.
- Strong analytical and problemsolving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
- Proficiency in working to strict deadlines.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
