Our growing company is looking to fill the role of manual lathe and milling machine operator to join our small team based in Atherton.

Responsibilities for lathe and milling machine operator

• Hand loads parts and/or material, hand feed tools as required.
• Inspects parts during production using various types of gaging devices such as, hand micrometers, plug and depth gages.
• Makes machine and tooling adjustments necessary to maintain job specifications.
• Awareness of machine maintenance duties.
• Performs miscellaneous related duties, such as clerical recording, material handling, and maintains cleanliness of machines and work area.
• Locates work piece and positions piece in machine and transfers finished piece from machine to shipping & receiving.
• Performs straight and taper turning, boring, threading, facing, drilling, tapping, reaming, plugging and mill work, to the required dimensional specifications and tolerances.
• Operates Lathe Machine to the appropriate specifications in conjunction with design and fabrication/assembly requirements.
• Operates band saw and overhead crane.

Qualifications for lathe operator

• Time served qualified turner / miller
• Experienced in a 4 jaw chuck setup preferred
• Uncompromising attitude toward safety, customer service and quality
• Must be able to maintain required production rates

From £13.00 per hour
