£27,344 with the opportunity to progress to a maximum of £30,151 pro-rata for part time

An exciting opportunity to join the Fostering and Adoption Panel Office as a Statutory Panel Report Writer.

Fostering and Adoption Panel Office consists of Administrators, Statutory Panel Report Writers, Panel Delivery Manager and Service Manager.

You'll need to deliver highly detailed minutes of panels and Best Interests meetings, along with completing administrational tasks related to panel business.


Duties may involve a combination of:
You will attend Adoption and Fostering panels on a weekly basis, taking minutes and completing post panel tasks. Types of cases include approvals, reviews, appeals and matches.


You will be responsible for your own time management to meet the statutory timescales for minutes to be completed and sent to the Agency Decision maker for approval.

Sharing a full range of administrative duties, dealing with all general matters and more complex correspondence relating to panel. Liaising with Panel Members, Team Managers and Social Workers who are presenting cases to panel.


Update and manage computer databases and spreadsheets, provide reports and compile information such as online evaluation and feedback data, approval data and statistical data relating to panel business.

Contributing data for the Panel Adviser annual reports for Adoption and Fostering panels as requested.

Maintain confidentiality, respond to enquiries and provide required information to internal and external customers.


Provide professional support to Senior Officers and Managers, undertaking an ambassadorial role dealing with confidential and sensitive matters, first point of contact for Senior Managers.


Manage utilisation of and provide expertise in software packages such as Microsoft Office, production of documentation according to local procedures and statutory/legal requirements.

The duties and responsibilities listed above describe the post as it is at present. The post holder is expected to accept any reasonable alterations that may from time to time be necessary.


This role has varied administrational tasks assigned to it; one or two days per week you will have the opportunity to attend virtual and/or face to face fostering and adoption panels where you will meet and work with a range of professionals.

You will need to type accurate minutes and use databases or spreadsheets for recording information. Other tasks include liaising with Panel Members, Social Workers and Team Managers post panel.

There is the opportunity to complete monthly statistics which feed into the Panel Adviser reports for both adoption and fostering panels.


Good level of education:
GCSE, A-level or Vocational equivalent. No specific qualifications required. Previous experience in service delivery or a business-related qualification would be beneficial. You will be a competent administrator with experience of taking minutes and using Microsoft Office. You'll need to show confidence and possess excellent customer care skills.
